About 4 Park Avenue

Park Avenue is an Edwardian era house situated within the Wood Green community. It has 6 bedrooms providing 24 hour care for adults with Autism or Asperger's Syndrome and some may have Learnind Disabilities. It is situated adjacent to The Hub which is HFA's day centre. Park Avenue is also very close to public transport, allowing day trips out into London and beyond, as well as allowing Service Users to maintain relationships and friendships outside of the home. Management of the home is provided by a Service Manager and a Deputy Manager with extensive experience working with people with conditions across the autism spectrum.. All of the home staff have at least three years experience working with people with ASCs and learning difficulties. They are trained in a variety of areas such as food hygiene and TEACCH and 90% of the staff have achieved at least a level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care. Each Service User has an individual activity programme is both suited to their interests and is aimed to benefit well being, empowerment and social interaction. Leisure activities include accessing the local community by visiting the local cinema, pub or the nearby Alexandra Park. In addition, the garden, conservatory and communal areas within the home provide space for the service users for further interaction and recreation within a structured and relaxed environment in the form of games and art activities, or to simply unwind and watch television. The home also has a laundry room and the kitchen diner area which provides a perfect environment for service users to develop their independent living skills.
