Options Dorset

Options Dorset is a supported living service providing 24-hour support to adults aged 18+ with learning disabilities, Autism, Mental Health problems and complex needs. We can also cater for the needs of Acquired Brain Injury and clients with Autistic Spectrum Disorder. Our vision of person-centred support is to start with the person and build the service around their needs, with complete user participation at all stages of the process. Support is focused on enabling people to access opportunities, resources and facilities through working collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams to access and facilitate whatever support is needed.

• We support, empower and encourage individuals to take an active part in their community and access mainstream leisure pursuits and interests, as well as encouraging families to join in. This includes meals out, trips to the cinema or theatre, swimming, going to the gym, horse riding, etc
• We support people in their own homes to learn all the necessary independent living skills such as cooking, cleaning, budgeting, shopping for food, clothing or new furniture, booking holidays, helping them with their finances, paying bills, making appointments and reading letters
• We develop individual support plans to include access to day centres, colleges or adult education classes, or supported employment
