Heath Farm

About Heath Farm
The Farmhouse opened in July 1995 and with person centred planning underpinning every part of the service its residents enjoy a vast range of activities including holidays abroad, sailing, swimming, football, horse riding and other experiences that challenge the service users and staff who support them. The Barn is a home which supports individuals with high functioning Autism and Asperger syndrome. It provides development opportunities and a wide range of activities designed to influence future interaction using social training. Some of the service users who live in the Barn are working towards decreasing their support packages and moving closer to the transition into the community. Therefore at Autism Care we believe supported employment, independent living skills and maximum community involvement is priority at this stage in the service users' day-to-day lives. The Cottage provides a very structured environment for people with an ASC. They provide a high level of support to individuals based on the TEACCH, Triad and Sensory assessments. This home specialises in developing communication skills and introducing portable strategies which support people through the process into independence. The Paddocks is our newest development on this site. All of the bedrooms are spacious and have their own en-suite facilities. The Paddocks has a predominantly female service user base and can provide support for complex needs and all levels of independence. The Holt provides intensive behavioural support for people with ASC in a very predictable environment. The Holt ensures that a robust and low stimulus environment is made comfortable and personalised and the staff work intensively by constantly evaluating behaviour management strategies and developing these further where required to ensure the service user is benefiting from the facilities. The Croft has a very high level of staff encouragement to provide intensive support solutions to individuals with complex needs. It provides a low stimulus approach and a dynamically risk managed environment. The support workers are highly motivated and trained, enabling them to confidently offer specialist support. We also have an outcome-focused resource centre, The Oaks, which offers day care programmes to individuals in Lincolnshire. These have all been successfully accredited by the National Autistic Society for the last five years. These services are then complimented by our Lincolnshire supported living and outreach services operating in Sleaford, Lincoln, Grantham, Coningsby and Peterborough which currently provide tailor made packages of support to individuals with Autism and Asperger syndrome.
