About Staffordshire Adults Autistic Society (SAAS)

SAAS was set up and founded by Kevin Healey, Stoke On Trent's Citizen of the year. Kevin was approached by a larger number of ASD adults because they felt there was a lack of services and no support in the area. The Lottery, Newcastle Borough Council, Give it Sum, Awards for All, SCF, Richmond care group, Comic sport relief, Coalfields, and many more have funded SAAS, You can find more details about SAAS and our recent activities on our conference page. We aim to provide support to people with Autism and Aspergers We arrange activities and outings for adults with ASD including: Activity days and outings Social group Social meetings Training Autism talks Conferences Workshops Charity events Charity Balls ⁄ Fundraising events Helpline Newsletters Membership Management advisory board, trustees, Volunteering opportunity Yearly Christmas party Online community radio station (TBA) Information resource library SAAS are currently working on providing a cyber cafe which will consist of a coffee bar, snacks and meals, which will be open to the public. Staff will be employed at the centre and also people with ASD to enable them to gain life skills, independent living skills, OCN's & NVQ's. SAAS will be delivering training, and much more and hope to have this centre up and running by 2013/14
